This year’s Feast of Mars is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. The event will begin on Thursday, September 29th, and reach its climax on Saturday, October 1st. The early days of the event will be marked by battlegames, tournaments, and, of course, ditching, while Saturday will be occupied almost entirely by the actual Feast of Mars.

Feast of Mars VII Battlegame Details
Howdy folks! This is your friendly neighborhood war-o-crat here with some excitin’ news about Friday’s battlegames. First up, there are going to be at least 2 full class games Friday afternoon. That’s right – two opportunities for you to dust off all that class gear that hasn’t gotten used since Flurbtastic and bring it out on the field. What’s more, we’re tying these games in with some of our Food Fight fundraising, as we will be holding a 6th level day. $5 will get you to 6th level in the non-monster class of your choice. Feel free to buy up a class for use in each battlegame, or to use the same one for both. As to the actual battles…
The first game, scheduled at 2:30 PM, will, in honor of Sir Euric’s reign theme, be pirate-focused. Specifically, Roman pirates. On triremes.
How do you say “arr, matey” in latin anyway?
One team will take the part of the dirty, smelly pirates, while the other will represent the equally dirty and smelly Roman navy, hunting them down and trying to drag the survivors back to Rome for use in some sort of festival honoring some sort of deity of war or… y’know… something.
The second game (4:30 PM) will be more multi-sided, with several teams trying to retrieve items from the wreckage of a caravan, and bring them back to their respective bosses. It should be loads of chaotic fun.
There will also be an archery tournament ongoing throughout the day, wherein a donation to Food Fight will get you a set number of arrows to shoot at a preset group of targets. The highest scoring entrant will receive a pick from the prize table early on, in addition to the one earned through their ranking in the Feast of Mars festivities on Saturday.
Speaking of prizes, we are still seeking donations to the prize table. It’s shaping up to be a reasonable selection of gear, but we need every bit we can squeeze on there. Hell, we’ll even add more tables if people feel like being generous enough to populate them.

A Quick Reminder
We’re now less than 3 weeks out from Feast of Mars VII, and there are a few things that bear mentioning. Today’s tidbit is that while the games on Saturday are classless, several battlegames on Friday will be full class affairs, so bring your regular Amtgard class gear along with your ditching regalia.
